Short Path Distillation is a process by which already processed oil is further refined to roughly 90% purity. For the experienced oil producer, short path distillation equipment offers a shortcut to added purity. After you extract the oil and remove the contaminants, you will be on the road to pure (or nearly pure) oil. Some short path distillation setups advertise purity levels as high as 96 percent, although that will vary depending on the original quality of the plant and the number of times you run it through the system.
