Common Applications

ROTARY EVAPORATION

Provides chemical-resistant vacuum support for rotary evaporators used in solvent evaporation, concentration, and recovery workflows.

VACUUM FILTRATION

Supports vacuum-assisted filtration processes requiring reliable, oil-free operation and resistance to aggressive chemical vapors.

SOLVENT & CHEMICAL PROCESSING

Well suited for laboratory and processing systems involving corrosive or solvent-rich vapors where chemical resistance and dependable vacuum performance are required.

Handling & Storage

HANDLING
Place the pump on a stable, level surface with adequate ventilation and clearance for proper airflow. Secure all vacuum connections before operation and use compatible tubing, fittings, and components when handling chemical or solvent vapors. Avoid restricting the pump inlet or exhaust, and inspect connections regularly for leaks, wear, or contamination.

STORAGE

When not in use, keep the pump in a clean, dry, temperature-controlled environment away from excessive moisture, dust, corrosive materials, and direct heat. Disconnect power and protect the inlet and outlet connections from contamination. Before extended storage, follow Welch’s recommended cleaning and shutdown procedures, particularly after exposure to aggressive or condensable vapors.

Safety Notes

Operate the pump on a stable, well-ventilated surface and use only with vapors and materials compatible with the pump’s wetted components. Ensure inlet and exhaust connections are properly secured and route exhaust gases to an appropriate ventilation or capture system when processing hazardous or corrosive vapors. Disconnect electrical power and fully vent the system before cleaning, inspection, or maintenance. Always follow Welch operating instructions, chemical SDS requirements, and applicable facility safety procedures.
